I am a British Asian born in Wellingborough in 1973 . Having lived in India and Kenya, my colourful and diverse background is reflected in my work. I make use of different media in varying styles to bring texture and dimension to my paintings.

Based in North Buckinghamshire I live with my husband and four daughters.

I find inspiration all around me. Every sight, sound and emotion can lead me to instinctively create paintings that are fresh and uplifting. Unique paintings you enjoy looking at and take you away to a different place.

Drawn to many subjects, I feel the same passion for creating pencil portraits as I do about my still life paintings.

I enjoy using a variety of media and styles and accept commissions to suit requirements for both corporate and personal needs.

I believe that art is all around us. Look closely enough and we can see real beauty in the things we normally take for granted.

Kakamega Temple Art

During a visit to Kakamega (Kenya) I was commissioned to paint a picture of Nilkanth Varni for the new temple which opened in August 2009.

I have always loved iconography and it was a wonderful experience for me artistically and spiritually to paint a Hindu deity on a large scale.

School Workshops

In November 2009 I visited a local primary school to do workshops with year 5 and 6 students on creating Rangoli patterns within their theme of Diwali.

The children found the project exciting and challenging as it was the first time they had experienced working with fine powdered sands to create their rangoli designs.  It was tricky for some to begin with, but with patience they soon got the hang of it and produced some beautiful work.  The children said they had the "best time ever"!

I also had the pleasure of working with secondary school students in November 2008 at Mandeville Stadium.  The students were learning about inclusion in society and overcoming barriers.

Mandeville Stadium is the home of the Paralympics and the students were taken there to experience firsthand how disabled athletes compete and attended my art workshop whilst there.

In my workshop, I had divided an image of a Paralympian so that each member of the group had a section to recreate in any style and in any medium, as I had provided them with lots of different materials.  I had not shown the entire to image to the students and some of the sections were not easily recognisable, so they had to simply draw what they could see.  At the end of the session, I collected all the pieces from them to form the picture.

The idea was for the students to come together as a team,  and in order for the final result to be good, they would need to work as a individual to the best of their ability first.

Swan House Winslow

I was approached by the manager of Swan House in Winslow, Bucks during an Art Exhibition in Milton Keynes in October 2008 to supply paintings.

Swan House cares for dementia patients and the manager had read that vividly coloured and textured paintings may act as a positive stimulant for her patients.

I was pleased to be able to supply them with a range of artwork within their budget.
